It was a very hot day in the valley, but we braved Huntington Gardens anyway.
Elizabeth and I, escaping from the hot sun via a shaded path in the gardens.
The Japanese section of the Gardens features this bridge.
Pleasantly shaded benches in the gardens.
We made sure to bring water bottles, which is what saved us from dehydration. The Huntington had a great exhibition on the photography of Edward Weston. It seems as though “art” photography is mostly done in black and white. My work, as it is in color, may not necessarily quality as art.

My dad, in the herb gardens of Huntington Gardens.
Sea Castle apartments, home of Elizabeth. There are no roads between it and the beach.
My sister, Emily, and I braved the waves of Santa Monica. This was the first time I have ever used a boogie board, and it proved easier to handle than a surf board.

Left to right: Tom (my dad), Darlene (my mom), Emily (my sister), me, Elizabeth. This was taken at the Pierview Café in Malibu. We had gone there for lunch on Sunday.
The Pierview has a little private beach. It was somewhat crowded with a sunbathing crowd, but offered good views of the Pacific.
We drove up to Mount Saint Mary’s College, where Elizabeth had gone for nursing school. One of the many impressive views is that of the Getty Museum.
